We’ve put LOTS of time + money + energy into fixing her up and making her happy, so yes, the price is FIRM. Honestly, we are underselling.
Considering how much work we’ve done, the mileage, and forever tags, she’s worth way more. But we are moving back to Hawaii in three weeks, and we’re not taking her with us, so we’re just passing on the good vehicle karma <3
That being said, we want to make sure she goes to the right family/individual, who will also take care of her.
Here are her most recent improvements:
Brand New Transmission! ($2,000+ job completed 12/23)
New Brakes (pads, rotors, etc. - 06/23)
New Exhaust System (05/23)
Replaced all wiring under the hood
New car battery (2/24)
Replaced steering system
House electric works (although we use mainly solar-powered electronics)
New Steering Fluid Pump (11/23)
All repairs were done here in San Diego, I have the receipts and a great list of mechanics that work on vans like this.
That being said, this beauiful camper van is healthier and stronger than ever, with all of her recent repairs, and is ready for adventure <3
There is fold-out bed in the main cabin, and an extendable bed up top in the bubble. We have lived many times in this van while traveling comfortably with a family of 4!
The front passenger seat is a captains chair, which means it can swivel 360 degrees! (One of my personal favorite parts of this camper van)
As far as we know, the water pump and toilet/sink are still in working order as when we bought her, we just never used them when we’ve camped. We run most of our gear with solar panels, which we are taking with us when we move <3
The previous owner showed me the electric system, we just never used the sewage system/water pumps when we traveled/lived in her.
If you are interested in dialing these systems in, I have a great mobile mechanic here in San Diego that could support you doing this. He’s been my mechanic for years, he’s a wizard.
All and all, she has a beautiful galley, plenty of standing room for dance parties, plenty of storage for clothes and in the kitcken. She is really just a wonderful camper to live and travel in <3
That being said, these are her old lady quirks:
No AC, but can be fixed.
Cosmetically, she’s an older lady, and has an aging original paint job, but the engine and her insides are strong as ever and ready to last many years/miles to come. That being said, she would LOVE some fresh paint from a future owner!
Propane tank hasnt worked since we bought her, and we never replaced it,
so we just use lay a camping stove (with mini-propane) in the cabin for cooking, feels the same!
The fuel gauge doesn't work, so I use the odometer to track mileage, and I make sure to fill her up every 100 miles.
The speedometer kicks in around 30mph.
And lastly, there is a repaired crack on the windshield, it has been there since we bought it. The previous owner had this crack repaired and reinforced professionally.
Okay, so those are her old lady quirks, and now for her old lady magic…
Here’s the greatest thing about this beautiful ol’ camper van…
She is registered and titled in Montana (and still is). And because it is a “vintage” model now, the registration/safety is good forever!
This means this van will always be street legal (as long as you have your own insurance) and will never need to pass a smog test or anything like that, as long as you keep the registration.
Of course, you are more than welcome to switch the registration to CA, but you will lose the forever Montana plates/title/registration.
That being said, this is a huge selling point for us, because you’ll never need to worry about registration/smog as long as you keep the current Working Title.
This is another big reason why we are only willing to sell this van to the right family/individual, because there is a lot of trust in passing on this forever street legal camper van!
If this van feels aligned for you, please write us an email, introducing yourself and your vision for this camper van.
Serious inquiries only. Cash only.
Much love and looking forward to meeting the future steward of our camper van!
